Dr. Jesse Richardson established Henderson County Veterinary Hospital in Athens, Texas in 1974. Since that time, the hospital has strived to offer a wide range of animal care to the people of East Texas. It is our belief that in a rural setting where a very diverse population of animals exist, there is a great need for a general veterinary practice to serve as a first line of care for both companion and food animals. Dr. Richardson and the staff of HCVH care very much about meeting your animal's needs in a compassionate and humane way.
 

Dr. Doug Richardson joined Henderson County Veterinary Hospital in 2014. Dr. Richardson grew up in Athens and was excited to return home to this community.  Dr. Richardson and his wife, Margaret, have three children and are involved in their church, schools, community sports and 4-H activities.  Dr. Richardson and the staff at HCVH strive to provide excellent service to both small and large animal clients.
